Origins

V'hala and her brother, V'ari, were born into a status of prominence within an isolated Miqo'te society deep within the mountains of Western Ilsabard. As part of a family of those who possessed formidable skill with wielding the elemental force of Wind, V'hala was exceptional compared to her brother, who was sufficiently lacking when it came to his magical aptitude. However, her skill would prove to be for naught, as a tragic accident during one of her tribe's "coming of age" ceremonies resulted in her personal reserves of aether to be drastically and permanently reduced. She had lost her capacity to wield the very Winds that had been her birthright, and as such had been shunned by her fellow tribespeople as cursed.After her sixteenth naming day, she and her brother would ultimately flee from their ancestral homeland, heading south to distant Eorzea. Though young, they struggled and did their best to survive in the harsh wilds of Gyr Abania and the Shroud. They would encounter persecution and hostility by inhabitants of both, due to their status as outsiders. Until one fateful day, where they were found by a traveling Coerthan merchant who took pity upon them and hired them as his personal servants. From then on, they lived with their new patron in the isolated city-state of Ishgard.

Harsh Winters

For a full year, V'hala worked alongside her brother under the merchant Tremont Delouix, as caretakers of his household and personal shop. Though the work was sometimes difficult, Master Delouix was a fair man, and ensured that both were well fed and taken care of underneath his roof. Alas, the Battle of Carteneau came, and the forthcoming Calamity would alter their lives as well. With the dramatic shift of climate in Coerthas, Master Delouix was forced to take alternative paths to move his goods to sell abroad - and it was on one such trail that he'd become the victim of a Dravanian ambush, his life taken and his wares stolen.With their patron now lost to them, it was not long before V'hala and her brother were cast out onto the streets of the Brume. Work was difficult to find, due to their foreign backgrounds, and what work they did seek was grueling and brutal. It was during this time that V'hala was approached by Lord Aldren Fraus, a lordling of a lesser family under House Durendaire and known as the 'Black Baron' in Ishgard's criminal underbelly. Fraus was responsible for providing the local nobility with many trafficked goods and services...including exotic, foreign women. An assortment of beauties that V'hala herself would come to be included, as she sold herself in order to care for herself and her brother.For a couple years, V'hala would work under Fraus as a courtesan to young and older Lords alike, trained to fulfill their desires and to be discreet. However, she was also responsible for collecting damning information about these same clients for Fraus' personal use; something that she proved to be quite capable at. Within time, she became one of Fraus' favored, and became known as his 'White Rose'. As the two drew closer, Fraus would learn of her interest and aptitude towards the engineering taking place in the Skysteel Manufactory. Seeing an opportunity to slip eyes and ears into a budding weapons industry, Fraus assisted V'hala in securing a place for herself at the Manufactory, and eventually the Garlond Ironworks upon securing the interest of a recruiter.No longer a courtesan, V'hala began her career as a Magiteknician and steam engineer, assisting in the advancement of weapons augmentation and gadgetry. However, Fraus still held her by a leash, so many of her contributions soon found their way into the hands of himself and his criminal enterprise. Her 'White Rose' would soon become the mark of illegal magitek weaponry on the Black Market, and Aldren Fraus' personal riches grew. Though she was content with her work, she yearned to be free from her Lord's influence...and after befriending a few capable individuals, she was able to escape the Black Baron's clutches and see him face the full weight of Ishgardian justice - the sort that came at the end of a headsman's axe.

New Beginnings

Now free from the Black Baron's influence, V'hala threw herself fully into her passions, earning enough recognition within the Ironworks to be sent as a support member for the Ilsabardian Contingent. During which she labored tirelessly to restore Garlean infrastructure and support the Contingent's efforts. With the end of the Final Days, and her tour at an end, a new Ironworks detachment was sent to relieve her - from there, V'hala traveled to Shirogane, to settle herself within the newly-acquired residence of her found-siblings, Aultena and Edgard. But there is always work in need of doing, especially for a Miqo'te of her talents, so now she frequently travels abroad, fulfilling contracts sent her way by the Ironworks and lending her services to any who would need her expertise.
